CT required to perform robotic-assisted total hip arthroplasty can identify previously undiagnosed osteoporosis and guide femoral fixation strategy | Bone & Joint (boneandjoint.org.uk)
CT scans are increasingly obtained to guide arthroplasty surgery. They guide implant/fixation choice and can give us surrogate information in relation to bone stock in general.
A timely reminder that in spite of all the huge advances we have made in arthroplasty surgery, design and manufacturing issues can still come cause problems. Surveillance mechanisms must be in place as a backstop.
